Jose Antonio Reyes (Football Stock) |
LONDON, Aug 28 (SW) – The future of Jose Antonio Reyes at Arsenal has
again been called into question after the player made comments saying
his playing days in England were over.
“I've heard lots of rumours, but the one thing that is clear is that I want to leave London,” said the young Spaniard.
“I want to come back to Spain. I will not play again in England.”
Real Madrid were the early favourites for the player’s signature,
however their pursuit of Mahamadou Diarra from Lyon has opened the door
for rivals Atletico Madrid and a possible return to Sevilla.
Whatever happens, the 22-year-old Spanish international has reiterated his desire to return to his homeland.
“There has been some talk about Atletico and they are constructing a
strong team. I just want to return. I would say yes to Atletico, yes to
Real Madrid and yes to Sevilla.”
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is standing firm over his desire to retain
the player and will certainly not be pressured to sell the player for
anything below his valuation.
