VALENCIA, Aug 24 (SW) - Valencia CF have signed Real Betis winger
Joaquin, according to Spanish sportspaper Marca. The player is said to
cost 24 million Euros.
More teams wanted the 25-year-old international player, but Joaquin
himself stressed that he only wanted a move to Valencia. This left
French champions Olympique de Lyon without a chance.
Valencia set an ultimatum and Betis reacted, with the imminent transfer
as result. The player will undergo medical tests and is likely to be
presented on Friday.
Earlier this summer, Valencia had already attracted Asier Del Horno of
Chelsea, Fernando Morientes of Liverpool and Empoli's Francesco Tavano.
