Luis Figo in World Cup Action for Portugal against Angola |
MILAN, Aug 21 (SW) – In an interview with a local newspaper, A Bola,
Inter Milan’s and Portugal’s midfielder Luis Figo said that he thought
that his chances of playing in the English Premier League were all but
over.
Figo went on to add that it has always been a dream of his to play in the English Premier League.
Being in the twilight of his footballing career he felt that it was now
time to begin thinking of his family, something he owed them dearly.
The thirty three year old Figo is married to Swedish model Helen Svedin. The couple have three young daughters.
In August 2005 he signed a two year contract for Inter after having
been transferred from Spanish giants Real Madrid. He had also spent
time at Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona.
He bowed out of international football after Portugal's fourth-place
finish at the World Cup in Germany in July after earning 127 caps, the
most of any national team player.
