BOCHUM, Aug 20 (SW) - After seeing their slim lead disappear in the
second half, Bayern Munich fought back to win their second straight
match, 2-1 away to Bochum on Sunday.
The match was a surprising stalemate until the 43rd minute as Roy
Makaay took a wonderful pass from the right by Hasan Salihamidzic, who
recently retired from the Bosnian national team, and put the ball past
Peter Skov-Jensen.
The lead, though, didn't last long as a cross from attacking midfielder
Zvjezdan Misimovic eluded both Lucio and Daniel van Buyten, allowing
Fabio Junior to put home in the 52nd minute.
Bayern immediately went in search of the response and found it on 65
minutes when Willy Sagnol's centering pass eluded Roque Santa Cruz, but
came back out for Philipp Lahm to strike home.
Bastian Schweinsteiger and Salihamidzic came close to a third late on
for Bayern, but it wasn't needed as Bochum could not muster up a second
equalizer.
