MADRID, Aug 21 (SW) – Real Madrid have confirmed that a fee has been agreed for Lyon midfielder Mahamadou Diarra.
The player has been identified by Fabio Capello as the priority signing
for Real before the close of the transfer window at the end of August.
"Real Madrid would like to announce the agreement reached with
Olympique Lyonnais and Mahamadou Diarra for the transfer of the
player," confirmed a club statement.
"Diarra will have his medical exam and be officially presented to the media in the upcoming days."
New club President Ramon Calderon added his thoughts on the impending transfer.
"It's who the coach asked for,” confirmed Calderon.
"We are happy we could provide Capello with Diarra because the coach
considers him essential to the team. Signing Diarra was a main priority
for Capello.
