SEVILLA, Aug 17 (SW) - Real Betis midfielder Joaquin has declared his
desire to leave the Sevilla-based club, saying that he has achieved all
he can with the organization.
The 25-year-old Spanish international has been linked with a number of
Europe’s largest clubs in the past year – Chelsea, Manchester United
and Real Madrid among them – but has resisted their siren songs.
But the midfielder is now keen to leave Betis.
"I have achieved everything that is possible at Betis," he is quoted as saying in the Spanish daily newspaper As.
"I have told [Betis coach Javier] Irureta that it is time for me to leave for another club."
The player added that Valencia have made a €15-million bid for him.
