Bayern Munich coach Felix Magath will have to do without Ismael for six months
MUNICH, Aug 16 (SW) - Bayern Munich defender Valerien Ismael broke his
leg in practice yesterday and will be out for approximately six months.
The 30-year-old central defender broke his left shinbone moments before
the end of Tuesday’s practice. Bayern players in the vicinity described
hearing a loud ‘crack’ as the Frenchman fell to the ground.
The Frenchman, who joined Bayern from Werder Bremen last season,
underwent surgery three months ago to repair a hairline fracture in the
same leg and had just returned to full training.
Bayern now face six months without him, but he should be available for
the UEFA Champions League knockout stages, should Bayern progress.
