PRAGUE, Aug 16 (SW) – Czech Republic’s inspirational midfielder has
admitted he will retire from the national team after the friendly with
Serbia.
“It isn't easy for me, I don't have any health problems that are
forcing this. It is because of a lot of other reasons, and I would like
to give other younger players a chance. Wednesday's match will be my
last for the national team,” confirmed the Juventus ace.
“I will be 34 and I want to be with my family and play only for
Juventus. It would be very difficult to prepare for tough international
matches while playing in Italy's second division.”
This is the second time that Nedved has retired, previously returning
to the international scene to help the side qualify for the 2006 World
Cup.
