MILAN, Aug 15 (SW) – Inter Milan owner Massimo Moratti has now opened
the door for those players surplus to requirements to leave the club.
After a massive summer which saw the arrival of Fabio Grosso from
Palermo, Hernan Crespo from Chelsea, Juventus pair Patrick Vieira and
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, plus the free transfer signings of Brazilians
Maicon and Maxwell, the Nerazzurri chief has now declared the club is
ready to sell.
"Inter are a club who look ahead, but we also have to keep an eye on our budget," confirmed the Inter patron.
"We still have not started the sale transfer phase, but we know it will
have to start sooner or later. We certainly can't just buy players.
"Inter will consider all requests very carefully, studying the market
and our relationships with the clubs that make those offers."
One player who seems likely to head for the exit door is Nigerian
striker Obafemi Martins, who has attracted interest from Valencia,
Newcastle and Portsmouth.
