Harewood signed from Nottingham Forest in 2003

West Ham striker Marlon Harewood has signed a new, improved contract.
Harewood signed a five-year deal last September but the
new package - which still expires in 2010 - comes after he was the
club's top scorer last season.
"I am enjoying playing football for West Ham and this is
where I want to stay," said the 27-year-old, whose goal tally in the
2005-2006 campaign was 16.
Goalkeeper Jimmy Walker has also agreed a one-year contract extension, which goes through to the summer of 2008.
Harewood cost West Ham £500,000 when he signed from Nottingham Forest in November 2003.
He was linked with Tottenham and Newcastle over the
summer but pledged to stay and battle for a place among West Ham's
congested forward ranks.
Walker is effectively third-choice keeper behind Roy
Carroll and Robert Green but is determined to fight his way into
contention for a place in the starting XI.
"I appreciate it will be difficult in terms of
first-team places, with two other top quality keepers here, but I will
just keep doing my best," he said.
